This information is aimed at making your holiday as smooth-running as possible. Please take a moment to read it and familiarise yourself with the holiday and the Country you’re visiting.
What to wear
Light clothing is preferable. Suitable biking attire will be necessary to include shower proof gear, as rain is possible.
Safety and protection
Helmets are compulsory in Portugal. If you are bringing your own bike, make sure to bring a safety helmet as well. Please also consider gloves and appropriate footwear. SPD pedals are available if required on hire bikes. Please bring your own shoes.
Keeping hydrated
Water is supplied and we recommend that you consume sufficient water at all times when riding. You will need to bring a water bottle or a backpack with water reservoir.
Insurance
It is recommended that you have travel insurance, as would be the case on any holiday. Sintrabiking have in place all public liability insurances as required by law, however, in the event of emergency your own personal insurance will be advisable.
The standard E111 card should be carried at all times.
General riding
Riders must follow the rules of the road and their guide at all times to ensure their personal safety.
